It seems you like "old school" Sonic! Great gallery of work!

Ya, I've only like Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, and Sonic Colors as far as 3D Sonic goes. But the way I draw Sonic is sorta just my style...not because I prefer his classic design over his modern one, but just because that's how I like to draw him.

Thanks for going the extra mile and checking out my gallery! :D

I like to give feedback which is constructive. It seems not many people do that these days on DA. I like to ask about why certain artists choose a certain style, or about the techniques, materials they use. Usually if I like an artist, I will always check out their galleries; I love to see what other "gems" I can find! LOL!

I myself would love to do it more, if I had the time! ;-;
The way I draw Sonic, and all of my characters, are just because of how I draw. I very, VERY rarely use references.
I know quite a few techniques using pencils, but it would take a while to explain them...
I use normal, everyday paper, and a everyday #2 pencil...and maybe color pencils. Why? Because they're cheap and common, I can't afford something nice like prisma colors... DX
And what you say about other Gems is totally correct. I may be a Sonic fan, but you'll notice not everything in my gallery is SONIC. :)

It's funny you mention Prisma Colors. I bought a box of Prisma Colors in a closeout sale for 8.00!!! LUCKY ME! I use mostly pencils too. I also use a kind of crappy paint program called Ultimate Paint. One day maybe I can get the more expensive paint programs like some of the artists here. When I draw characters for the first time, I do use references because I really want my pictures to have "movement" to them and not look stiff and one dimensional. I hate for my drawings to look like "little kid" art. LOL!!!

Yes, that's very lucky. I'd be looking at least twice as much. :P
Maybe you should try GIMP? It's free, and has a lot of functionality that Photoshop does.
Well, The first time I draw a character, I also use a reference. But you're not showing your creativeness when you constantly use references, which is why I stay away from using them.
I hope my art isn't "little kid" art! I try to make mine look decent and not flat, but who knows... ^^'
